I just kissed someone.....and I regret it. Help!?

I recently broke up with the love of my life due to long distance and (his) family problems...long story, unfortuatley. Anyway, yesterday I was watching a movie with a friend.....and we kissed. And after that I feel freaked out and I think it was his first kiss. I don't want to be that special someone because I don't even want to date for a long time.... I just wanted some affection, I guess. I feel like a terrible person, but I want to tell him that I can't be a girlfriend, or even someone to fool around with, to him, and I can't really even talk to him face to face now without feeling weird. Any advice on what to do? I was thinking and I just don't want to be involved with anyone who smokes pot, and I definatley don't want him to get hurt... I would think as an adult I would know how to handle this... I guess we all need a bit of help once in a while.I just kissed someone.....and I regret it. Help!?

Just think how you would have felt if you had sex with him. You're young therefore you are allowed to be stupid.
It was only a kiss. Tell him it was harmless, and you don't want to get involved in anything but a continued friendship with him. If he is your friend, he will understand that you aren't ready for anything serious.
just let him know you kissed him for all the wrong reasons....and it shouldn't happen again.
I suggest taking him to a very public place and let him down gently and tell him exactly what you said.

Just tell him that you are not ready to see anybody because you just got over a relationship.
Be frank; apologize to him that the kiss was not supposed to happen and tell him what you had just said about just wanting some affection. I know it takes alot of will power to do this, but the sooner the better. Good luck.
