How can we get our landlord to change our gate?

The gate around our property is old and practically falling down from how much its sagging. Lately people have been coming onto the property and stealing whatever is lying around on the porch and such. Someone even broke into our house, but thankfully my mom arrived a few seconds afterwards and the burglar fled. Is there any law that forces the landlord to replace our gates with ones that keep people out on the premise that people have tried to and succeeded in stealing things?How can we get our landlord to change our gate?
Write him a letter saying that the fence needs fixing and take pictures and send it with the letter.





Tell him that it poses a security threat and that you are putting him on notice that a dangerous situation exists. Send the letter certified.





If he doesn't fix the fence and something bad happens you can file a lawsuit against him for failing to provide proper security after constructive notice.How can we get our landlord to change our gate?
you might be able to get the township to force him to do because of safety issues. Just ask maybe he will just do it with out any intervention.
