Would someone please explain to me how to make an attachment to an email?

I'm a computer dinosaur, but ole t-rex is learning a lot nowadays. One thing I can't seem to get the hang of, though, is making an attachment to an email. I figure this is the best place to come for advice and not get laughed at or even more confused; on the computer site, they use terms I don't understand or they assume I know things I don't know. So would someone out there please help me? But please, if you do, put it in VERY simple terms, because you're dealing with somebody who got REALLY excited when she learned how to cut and paste. Thanks in advance.Would someone please explain to me how to make an attachment to an email?
Simple when you write you email, if you know how to do it, you will see a tab like these on your email,

# Send# Save draft #Attach %26lt;--------------- you will want to click ATTACH that is short for attachment ok, when you click attach, you will see a button called Browse click that and it will bring you to Documents, and that is where all your files/papers/reports/projects are saved to, and from there click twice on the document you want to attach and it should attach/upload and when it has loaded just click the Send Button and there you goo, if you still can't understand send me an email at navycadet34@hotmail.com and i will guide you throughWould someone please explain to me how to make an attachment to an email?
On yahoo.

Start your New mail, then click the attach file button. drop down boxes will appear with 'browse', click that and it will take you to your documents, select the photo or music you want to attach and double click it,that will select it and send you back to your mail.

Again, click attach files and that will load your selected file to your mail.it may take a few seconds.

You can select more to add in same way
I was also excited learning cut and paste and even dragging things. Here are some generic instructions for about any mail provider.

Good for you! Here is a walk-through of how to do it in Yahoo mail. If this is still confusing, or if you're using a different email program, let me know, and I can help you more. Hope this helps!

Create a new email like you normally would.

Click the ';Attach'; button. (In some programs it will be a picture of a paper clip.)

A window should open so you can find the file you want to send. Click on the file once to select it. In this example, we're sending the picture called ';Autumn Leaves';. Once it's selected, click ';Open';.

The window should close, and you are looking at your email again. At the bottom (it may be in a different place on other programs) you should see your file. http://img97.imageshack.us/i/email3t.jpg鈥?/a>

If you see the file there, you are ready to go. Finish typing your email, and hit Send, as you usually would.
Here's how I do it..... First you have to have the attachment saved in your computer, like a photo or document.

If it's Yahoo mail you get to your email inbox and click on ';new';.

Then the page will come up that allows you to make an email to send.

There you will see a little box about in the middle that says ';attach files'; and there is a little paper clip there too.

Left click on that ';attach files'; box and it takes you to a page that says ';browse';.

You click on ';browse'; and that will bring up a page that has the contents of your computer. You can click on one of the choices on the left that holds the thing you want to attach. Sometimes I have to search through several of them but have learned that what I want to send is either in photos or documents.

Click on the item you want to attach, click ';open'; at the bottom right and it will attach. Sometimes this takes a long time, sometimes it don't. After you do ';open'; it will take you back to the last page where you click on the white box that says ';attach files';. Then wait till it is attached.

Then it will be attached and you can put the email in that you want it sent to and click send. Don't forget to put something in the ';subject'; box. I always forget to do that.

Good luck.
A fellow dinosaur here.

Seems like you got some good advice here. So instead of repeating the same thing, I'd like to offer this tip, as I've seen you mention in other Questions that you're not sure how to add links. Seems that anything that you can ';highlight'; you can ';copy'; and then ';paste'; into the body of your Question. Or into an email, or your notepad and other various places.

If you want to ';link'; to a particular website, just highlight the address in the ';address bar'; located at the top of your browser, right click it after highlighting and select ';copy';. This will hold that information in your ';clipboard'; until you right click again and select ';paste'; So you can put the link to that website or whatever you've saved into your email or a Question/Answer or some other spot.

Since I have a habit of jumping all over the place and run into useful/useless information that I'd like to save for later, I have a sticky note application on my desktop that I send these links to so that I can save them for later use. Sort of like a desktop ';favorites/bookmarks';.
I am a senior but learned computers about 15 years ago because I am a technical person anyway. Every email somewhere on the face of it has what is called a ';button'; no matter its shape which is clickable which says ';Attach';. When you click on that, you get another screen with another buttons that read ';Browse';. Clicking on that brings you to one of the locations on your computer where you have stored or saved files. You click on the file name you want to attach to your email. The button may say ';open'; and after clicking, it should appear in your email as an ';attachment';.

When I first began, it felt very unnatural to keep looking at a screen and do things without humans and the terminology was annoying because it uses real ideas to create a virtual reality like the words ';window'; and ';desktop'; which are supposed to create an alternate reality. That bothered me.
